There are many infectious and non-infectious etiologies that can cause diseases of the vulva and vagina. These conditions can cause disturbing symptoms such as discharge, itching, redness and discoloration of the normal vagina and vulva. It is important to have the correct diagnosis in order to find the right treatment. Diagnosis can be done with careful examination, obtaining cultures and sometimes biopsy of the lesion.
